Overview Dr. Forester earned a B.S. in Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison followed by a combined M.D. and Ph.D in the lab of David Virshup (Oncological Sciences) at the University of Utah. He then completed internship and residency at the Boston Combined Residency in Pediatrics (BCRP) at Boston Children’s Hospital/Boston Medical Center. This was followed by fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT at the University of California – San Francisco with a post-doctoral fellowship in the lab of Davide Ruggero and moved into a junior faculty position with a clinical interest in hemoglobinopathies, bone marrow failure and HSCT. He was most recently recruited to the University of Colorado where his lab focuses on determinants of RNA sequence and structure guiding recognition of the translational machinery to define hematopoietic differentiation.
