Overview In this program, 236 Veterans will be recruited to participate in cCBT-SP and 236 Veterans will be recruited to participate in cCBT-D. This will be accomplished using the national VHA electronic medical record to identify those at risk for suicide, a method employed by the team on multiple occasions. The cCBT-SP course is comprised of 12 online sessions and is augmented by use of a companion workbook. Sessions all have a similar structure that includes: 1) Check-In; 2) Review Previous Session; 3) Learn About New Tools; and, 4) Practice Assignment to be Completed Between Sessions. Individuals are encouraged to use the workbook to refer to plans and activities, read about skills, make notes about what was learned, and log their cCBT–SP journey. Findings from the proposed efforts are expected to identify any potential safety-related barriers to implementation (e.g., additional necessary risk management strategies, adverse events), as well as important information regarding feasibility (i.e., ease of implementation) and acceptability (i.e., suitability of an intervention from the perspective of at-risk Veterans). Such data will be vital to facilitate widespread implementation.
