I am an Assistant Professor in the division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD), specializing in bioinformatics. I am also the co-director of the Biostatistics, Informatics and Bioinformatics Core in the UC Denver Lung SPORE and a member of several genomics core groups, cancer centers and pulmonary disease firms at my institution. I have over fourteen years of experience working with array-based genomic studies and have recently moved into analyzing next-generation sequencing data. My research has mainly focused on the genomic analysis of pulmonary disease, with publications in fields such as lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and pulmonary hypertension (PA). I am currently working on identifying cellular signaling pathways important in the formation and persistence of lung tumors, characterizing small RNA’s expressed from Mycobacterium tuberculosis during macrophage infection and constructing interacting networks from genes mutated in bladder cancer.
