Dr. Beckham works clinically in the field of Infectious Diseases with a focus on neurological infections. His research focuses on immune responses to pathogens with a specific interest in RNA viruses like dengue virus, Zika virus, and more recently SARS-CoV2. His laboratory also studies innate immune responses in the brain, and the role of innate immunity in neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's disease.
